Monitor and analyze congestion, human flow and visitor attributes with video Edge AI for use in developing sales and marketing strategies

The AI system can be used to determine the number of visitors, visitor demographics, congestion in stores, event spaces, food courts, and the flow of people, etc. from the images captured by surveillance cameras installed in the facility, and can be utilized to formulate sales and marketing strategies. Various types of AI applications are available, so the system can also be used for facility security purposes such as detecting suspicious persons, long-term visitors, and fire detection.

If the camera's equipment specifications(*) are met, already installed surveillance cameras can also utilized with our AI system.

* The IP camera must be ONVIF-compliant and capable of getting video streams with RTSP protocol. A pixel count of 2 MP or higher is recommended.

The results of measurements and judgments made by the AI application, such as time-series trends in the number of visitors and congestion in designated areas, can be "visualized" as data in the form of graphs and tables. If the standard visualization web application does not meet your requirements, we can provide additional development.

The number of visitors, congestion, suspicious persons, long-stay visitors, and fire and smoke can be reported to facility managers in real time, and the results of AI measurement and detection can be notified by e-mail, LINE, warning lights, and messages on displays and simple LED signs.

24 hours a day, 365 days a year, surveillance camera video is used as input to an AI Box installed onsite (at the edge) to perform AI inference processing in real time onsite.

AI Box installed at the edge can be installed general-purpose AI apps to suit their purpose (e.g., intrusion detection, headcount measurement, fire detection, etc.). This makes it easy to replace AI apps remotely even when the purpose of use changes.

When the AI application detects objects (e.g., suspicious person, person staying in the room, fire and smoke, etc.) at the edge, it can alert the administrator in a variety of ways. Depending on the system configuration, the system can notify the administrator of abnormalities in a variety of ways, such as via e-mail or LINE, by turning on or blinking a warning lamp, or by displaying a warning message on a display or a simple LED display board.

Understanding the number of visitors and visitor attributes (gender, age group, etc.)

    The images from surveillance cameras near the entrances and exits of commercial facilities and tenants (stores) can be analyzed as input for AI applications to measure the approximate number of people entering and exiting the facility or store, and to estimate the gender, age group and other attributes of visitors.  

Analysis of congestion and human flow in stores, event spaces, etc.

    This system can measure the number of visitors in real time from surveillance camera images of tenants, event spaces, food courts, and other areas in commercial facilities where many customers are present, and determine the congestion status. The system can also be used to display the congestion status on a website or a display in the facility, which is expected to improve customer satisfaction.

Preventing incidents and accidents in commercial facilities

    The use of AI applications for facility security purposes can detect and alert facility managers of people who enter off-limits areas or stay in the same location for long periods of time. In addition, in order to quickly detect fire and smoke in places where it is difficult to install fire detectors, the use of AI that recognizes and reports fire and smoke support the detection of fires in the early stages of their occurrence.
