Preventing accidents at construction sites and ensuring worker safety by video Edge AI

Even with the utmost care, it is difficult to reduce the number of accidents that occur at construction sites to zero. We will contribute to the reduction of accidents that occur on construction sites by using our video Edge AI technology, and help ensure the safety and security of all workers.

If the camera's equipment specifications(*) are met, already installed surveillance cameras can also utilized with our AI system. * The IP camera must be ONVIF-compliant and capable of getting video streams with RTSP protocol. A pixel count of 2 MP or higher is recommended.

The AI system reduces the risk of accidents by detecting workers who are not wearing helmets and alerting the supervisor to encourage them to wear helmets.

The AI system detects workers who have fallen due to an accident or physical condition at a construction site from surveillance camera images and alerts the supervisor, enabling them to quickly initiate first aid activities.

|Standard Features|

24 hours a day, 365 days a year, surveillance camera video is used as input to an AI Box installed onsite (at the edge) to perform AI inference processing in real time onsite.

AI Box installed at the edge can be installed general-purpose AI apps to suit their purpose (e.g.,Helmet not worn detection, fall detection, fire detection, etc.). This makes it easy to replace AI apps remotely even when the purpose of use changes.

The measurement results from the AI application on the edge can be notified and reported to the supervisor. Depending on the system configuration, the system can notify the supervisor of abnormalities in a variety of ways, such as via e-mail or LINE, by turning on or blinking a warning lamp, or by displaying a warning message on a display or a simple LED display panel.

Our AI system do not support detection of failure to wear other safety protective equipment such as harnesses yet, but we can consider new development upon request. Please feel free to contact us.

|Usage Scenarios|

Detection of failure to wear safety protective equipments

    The AI application infers whether workers are properly wearing safety protective equipments based on images captured by surveillance cameras installed at the work site, and alerts the supervisor when workers are detected not wearing them and warning messages can be displayed on a display or simple LED display board installed at the work site to urge the worker to wear the equipment.

Worker fall detection

    The AI application infers the worker's posture based on the images from surveillance cameras installed at the site, and alerts the supervisor if a worker falls over. The AI app will recognize the worker's fall as soon as possible, and will support immediate rescue activities in the event of an abnormality.

Fire detection in areas where it is difficult to install fire detectors

    It is sometimes difficult to install fire detectors at construction sites, especially in outdoor environments. By using AI to analyze images from surveillance cameras installed in such locations and detect smoke and flames, the system can alert management in the early stages of a fire.
